{"id":97,"date":"2009-12-26T20:00:04","date_gmt":"2009-12-27T01:00:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ammonsengineering.com\/blog\/2009\/12\/limit-switches-arrived\/"},"modified":"2009-12-26T20:00:04","modified_gmt":"2009-12-27T01:00:04","slug":"limit-switches-arrived","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ammonsengineering.com\/blog\/2009\/12\/limit-switches-arrived\/","title":{"rendered":"Limit Switches Arrived"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The limit switches came in today.\u00a0 They are even smaller than I expected.\u00a0 I knew what the measurements were, but it didn&#8217;t really connect until I had one in my hand.\u00a0 These would fit in a tight space fairly easily.<\/p>\n<p>I pulled off a strip of ribbon cable that is three conductors wide.\u00a0 I colored one edge black and the other edge red with permanent markers.\u00a0 I separated about half an inch of conductors at one end and pressed them into the connector using a small screwdriver.\u00a0 I think they are in far enough to cut through the insulation and make contact with the wires.\u00a0 If they don&#8217;t make good contact when I test them in a week or so, I will have to find something else to press them in further.\u00a0 The holes are pretty small.\u00a0 Perhaps a straightened out paper clip would work well.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The limit switches came in today.\u00a0 They are even smaller than I expected.\u00a0 I knew what the measurements were, but it didn&#8217;t really connect until I had one in my hand.\u00a0 These would fit in a tight space fairly easily.
